Our family of 4 had a wonderful time with Bruce yesterday on the tag-a-long tour. He took us to beautiful places along the coast and in the dunes that we never would have seen on our own. And, he gave us helpful instruction on how to 4wd in the sand and guided us along as we drove up and down the dunes - including some slightly terrifying hills. It was my husband’s dream come true and our kids squealed with excitement many times and loved the sand boarding at the end. The tag-a-long tour was a great way to spend the afternoon and I would highly recommend it to others.

Just did the tour with Bruce on Saturday. My wife and I and two children had an absolute blast! Bruce is excellent. Great sense of humour, knowledgeable and puts all at ease no matter your level of 4WD experience. The sand boarding was so much fun and the kids are still talking about it. It was good to finally use our Wildtrak for something other than getting the groceries. Thanks so much Bruce, it’s an activity we will all never forget👍

Easily a 5 star tour.. except for a few little things (read the full review for why I gave it 2). What did we like: The 4wd driving on the sand dunes at Stockton was great. Plenty of thrills, and suitable for all ages. Our 2 year old kept screaming out FUN! FUN! Again, again!. The sandboarding was amazing fun. Safe and simple. Once again suitable for all ages. Our 4 year old happily took herself down the dunes. These parts of the tour will be held in our fond memories for many years. We loved it. Now what didn't we like, and why have I given this 2 stars: They take you to nudist beach as part of the tour. There was no pre-warning on the website, or when we paid, nor as we were driving in. If we knew in advance we would not have gone. We had a car load of children. We didn't want them, nor did we want to see 2 naked men and 1 naked lady on the beach. Read some of the reviews about Samurai beach. This is certainly not a family friendly tour. The first we knew about it was when Bruce calls out excitedly on the radio that he can see some white pointers up ahead (use your imagination on that one). We shared some photos with friends, and a few said they would do the tour. However after pointing out that they take you to a nudist beach, they quickly changed their minds. We also didn't appreciate some of the jokes made. Some weren't family friendly, and others were a bit hurtful. There were several comments made over the radio about Bruce and his previous job. A couple of times he said that, no he wasn't a gigolo, and he use to pleasure women... (something along those lines). They knew we had a car load of kids. Not suitable, thank you. On multiple occasions there were jokes made about the size of our family. Yes, we have chosen to have 5 children, and are so so proud of them. It is hurtful when repeated comments are made about: "Don't you have a tv", or You need to get a man shed etc... In saying that, there was not malicious intent from the tour guides, but a little discretion about when to make jokes about gigolos or large families would have been nice. As I said at the start. The last part of the tour is definitely 5 stars, it was the taking us to a nudist beach (without any pre-warning) and inappropriate jokes that brought the tour down for us.

As a First time driver on the beach and the sand Bruce was amazing in providing directions and instructions. Going down sand dunes at 25% was an experience. Very knowledgeable on the area and history and environment. Would highly recommend for anyone want to take their car and family 4WDing

Bruce and the team were fantastic. Giving the group a history of the locations we visited aswell as beach driving tips. It was great fun driving over steep dunes. Its a must try.

We have just had an absolute blast on a 4WD Tag-Along Tour in Port Stephens with Bruce and Nicole. Before hitting the dunes, we had an opportunity to look at Little Rocky and Big Rocky, which has some really beautiful rock pools as well as a look at Samurai Beach. The Dunes were definitely a highlight. Bruce was really knowledgeable for those with little 4WD experience, but the Dunes were still steep enough to offer a thrill to experienced drivers. Surfing down the sand dunes was definitely a highlight for our two little ones (2 and 4 years old). Would highly recommend anyone coming near Port Stephens to take this tour! Definitely an experience we will cherish.

Highly recommend doing this tour! We did our second tour with Bruce yesterday and it was just as good as the first. Bruce talks you through every step of the way and is highly informed while still keeping the tour relaxed and fun. This tour is definitely one of the must do things in Port Stephens.

We had so much fun and the experience would never be as fun and safe without Tag-along Tours! Bruce and Nicole are the best tourguide ever. We have now started following them and we are now looking forward to our next 4wd experience with them again!

Wonderful tour that gave you knowledge and information about 4wding whilst also taking you to some interesting and beautiful sites. Bruce was knowledgeable, fun and relaxed. He helped all knowledge levels including those (me) with no idea! Amazing experience driving up and down the dunes and the snowboarding was a big highlight for the kids.highly recommend this fun and enjoyable, plus extremely good valued tour! Excellent safety upheld also. Thanks Bruce
